We hear this all the time when we ride past people in uptown. It's understandable, but very wrong! Riding a Segway is as easy as standing up!

Santa Clutz...

Just because he is Santa, doesn't mean we don't have to keep an eye on him while he rides his Segway. Even the most skilled riders can get a little too confident and bring out their cockiness and find themselves sitting on their back side. That is why we teach the skills repeatedly during training and especially during the tour!

Keep your Santa safe! Teach them safety repeatedly until it becomes routine.

Sometimes we really do appreciate Santa...

Even during the rush of the pre-holiday season, we can still see signs of the jolly 'ol man in his prep for the big day. Now...what if he was stylin and glidin around on his Segway (yes...we have reports that he rides a Segway!) delivering presents to all the good little boys and girls all over the world.

So...

We were able to catch a glimpse of him the other day as he cruised by on his bow-dressed Segway. Check out Santa folks!

Sedona Sunsets are ridiculous...

As we spend each day in the glory of this land, we are blessed with a unique "sunset" each day...twice a day. How is that possible? Simple...if you are here for sunrise, the Red Rocks explode first thing in the morning with vibrant fire-like colors on the East facing walls. Then, during the evening, the West facing walls light up with golden hues and again, the fire-like colors. So yes...we are VERY spoiled!

Survivors...

Life is so small when you get right down to it. We, as a society, believe that we have so much and will lose so much when we die. Truth is...there is nothing more important than being happy, loving and living!

As we provide tours every day to hundreds of people and thousands each year, we can sometimes overlook the individual successes that life has brought to some of our Segway 'friends'. One in particular, just two days ago, brought us fond, and hard memories of our own loved ones' fight for life against cancer.

Our friend Jackie, from the UK, came to us for an experience of a lifetime and then shared her 24 year survival battle with Breast Cancer and we were all floored! We ended up being the ones receiving the grandest of gifts!

We honor and cherish our moment with YOU Jackie!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Sedona Segway Tours is connected deeply to the fight against cancer as all of the employees here have had cancer directly affect them to some extent. Family, friends, and colleagues have been taken from us through the years.

Now, we are taking the opportunity to help those in need by making October, 2016, OUR fight against Breast Cancer!

We are decorating our Guide machines and our guides in the honorary color of PINK as we bring in the new month that is just around the corner. Every glide we take we will support the cause and hope to generate more people to the awareness of how cancer affects millions.

So come on down and say hello and check out the new 'colors' we're sporting on our machines. What you see here is just the beginning!

So people ask us all the time; "How hard is it to ride a Segway?"

The simple truth is that its as easy as standing up. Balancing on a Segway is EASY! You actually use the same muscles on a Segway that you do to stand up and we're not kidding! Your calf, shin and ankles are the main muscle areas used to "stand up on a Segway".

We believe it is the most common concept feared by new users or people who are skeptical. "I have terrible balance so I can't ride a Segway." Hogwash! Its pure fear that prevents people from getting on.

The reality is that the Segway is designed with gyroscopes and tilt sensors that do the balancing for you. Your body then works in tandem with the Segway and provides you your balance as you glide. The body generally moves only inches in order to have the Segway go forward, slow down, stop and turn.

It takes about 10 minutes to learn how to not just stand on a Segway, but to operate it on our custom training track. These folks from Germany were ALL first time gliders and they not only managed, but they began to bring on their Segway Swagger after about 20 minutes. Not because they were athletes or professional anything, but because they removed the fear factor and stopped using their thinking patterns and trusted their bodies desire to work in tandem with the Segway. Essentially, they just RELAXED and enjoyed the glide!
