Tiffany and Dracarys

Bringing gifts doesn't mean it will be something we wear or ride.
Sometimes it means the Gift of Life!

Dracarys is a young male Harris's Hawk that met us uptown in Sedona today. He is considered a "Working" raptor which means he is a professional hunter and protector of gardens. His job is to stop birds from pooping on lettuce, among other things. Yes...birds poop on our lettuce....THAT is why you wash EVERYTHING before you eat it!

Tiffany is a professional Falconer and is a Co-Founder of Sonoran Desert Falconry.
She is one incredibly wonderful BEing and will be sharing more of her Raptor family through the coming months.

We found out that the yellow color around Dracarys face
is a clear sign that he is eating a balanced diet.
The brighter the yellow, the better the fellow!

What a Treat!!!

Forest of Song: Anthology II - Out of the Darkness and Into the Light

Poetry may not be a calling for everyone, but for some, it is a deep inner peace and release. For others it can be an outlet to express emotions while for others, it can be a starting point for song writing or singing.

Forest of Song is a Poetry Book that was Created by Roger Blakiston, a Sedona resident with the perfect English accent who happens to Love writing poems and he also happens to be a Magician! Yeah...you can say it; MERLIN!!!!

He began a Facebook page called; Forest of Song where there are 549 members and just about everyone of them will add a poem or three every day! The work that comes from these folks is nothing short of miraculous!

Deeply spiritual people got together and decided a Poetry Book was in order. After weeks of discussion, the title, concept of covers and content was agreed on; Forest of Song: Anthology II - Out of the Darkness and Into the Light. Inspired by the teachings of Michael Mirdad (also a Sedona resident and Spiritual Leader at Unity of Sedona) and his Best Selling book; "The Dark Night of the Soul", these poems provide inspiration, healing and simple guidance within each of us as we all try to grow and understand what a "Dark Night of the Soul" can look and feel like.

They needed to get a short marketing video created for the late August 2019 release of the book. And So It Is! The following video is the final cut from the production room of Yava-Coco Productions.

OUCH... No More!! WindowAlert!!

Just Today 7 Birds have hit our Business window in Uptown Sedona!
I am glad to say that none of these beautiful creatures have passed away today because of hitting the window, but this is not always the case.
The window itself seems to be very attractive for them, and when there are clouds out it seems as though it gets worse.

No More!

We've tried many different things to stop this. We have raised our Business Banner at the point that they usually hit. Now I bought WindowAlert from Ace Hardware today.

1. Have you used it?
2. Does it work or do you have a better idea to help these birds and my heart out?
3. Would you please give me some feed back on what works for you on stopping this at your business or home?

Reason Not to lie about your children's age

👇

Important Tip about Segway Safety!

Don't Lie about your kids age!

Sedona Segway-AOW is the Segway tour company in uptown Sedona!

We absolutely Love what we do, and we Enjoy showing families a Fun Time!
Now we have to ask guests the age of their children when they arrive because parents are choosing to lie about how old their kids are when booking their tour.
Kids however, generally don't lie when they are asked their age.
We understand you want the whole family to have the experience, but their age is a factor for our tours!
We will turn you away

"You must be 12 years old to ride a Segway in Sedona AZ!"

This is my granddaughter, and as much as I love her she will not be able to ride with me on a tour until the day she turns 12 years old...period!
I still teach her safety rules when she visits, because she is around them.
(photo shot for example only)

6, 8 & 11 year old kids are not heavy enough, strong enough, nor have the mental understanding of safety responsibility to ride on a Segway yet. Insurance requires all guest to be at least 12 years old to take a tour.
Come on guys, what if something happened to your youngin'?

Please make responsible decisions for your kids safety!!

Question:

What is wrong with this picture?
👇
( Photo shot of Peaches (c): for Example only)
Answer:

1. Helmet is too big and strap doesn't fit around her chin
2. She is not heavy enough for sensors to register her weight
3. She is not tall enough to see over the bar
4. There is no way for her to control the Segway except for standing still
5. Technology can't prevent injury
6. Young kids don't understand Segway etiquette yet  and many more reasons...

Is a picture really worth 1000 words??

How do you FEEL in those things you SEE??

As I look at things in Sedona, I often feel so enchanted in the views. If you live here, or close by, you might too. Ever been here? If you have, I am sure you have parked your car in the most precarious places to get the best shots!
(We blame the tourists for their inconvenient positioning... lol.   Truthfully it's Us too. We just get better over time in our decision making...    ....usually 😏)

Now days, our norm is our cell phone to the face or in a pocket close by. We share our beloved Sedona in all her glory, and our most beloved pictures, our deepest regrets, happiest moments, precious children, grandchildren, lovers & even those we seemingly feel regret or anger for. We have hundreds, maybe even thousands of friends, joined several fb groups, Instagram, twitter, snap chat and many other social media outlets.
🙉🙈🙊

While looking at these different social media sights do you always SEE what FEELS good? We post things to get an emotional reaction right?? Do some of the things we see and interact with make us Feel great or do they really get us uptight? Most of the things I see these days are amazingly beautiful not much of the old drama. It seems as though after awhile fb analyzes and pays attention to those things I don't like and filters them out. What about you??
(Hmm.. something outside of me pays attention to what I don't like and filters it for me. Well that's strangely uncomfortable).
💞

Well if we spend a good amount of time on fb or whatever, I hope we are spending time viewing positive inspiration, sharing those things that bring us Joy. However, when we are struggling, and sharing that vulnerable space, please find it in yourself to not judge others and be kind and don't blast them to more emotional struggles. I have seen people absolutely crushed or uplifted in what others post as it is could be controversial.
(I have even been caught up in the agitation of someone elses views... oooops, my bad 😢)

🙌

How do you FEEL in those things you SEE??
Share Love when we share things! The world is a troubled place. I hope to spend more time on the solutions and not the problems! Be Pro something indeed, however, lets make it a solution to a situation or leave it be.

Some of us just don't get it do we? We are all in this boat together...
